The Aromatherapeutic Benefits and Aroma of Cedarwood

Our Woodland Wonderfur scent is made up of five aromatherapeutic grade essential oils - the core of them being Cedarwood.

This oil was specially chosen for an array of benefits and its soothing woody scent that reminds any hound of a walk in the woods. We worked with a pet aromatherapist, Penny Price, to ensure we picked oils that were enriching and highly beneficial to dogs in the most natural way.

Cedarwood is a sweet warm woody & grounding scent. It is smooth and slightly spicy with smoky balsamic notes.

Derived from distilled wood of cedar tree (Cedrus atlantica) bark, this oil is packed with benefits for hounds and humans.

The Renowned Benefits

The Aromatherapeutic Benefits and Aroma of Cedarwood
Cedarwood has an array of aromatherapeutic benefits for hounds - from insect repelling (making it great for fleas and ticks) to being an excellent skin stimulant to help with cell renewal and repair.

Here are some of the renowned benefits:

  • Naturally deodorising
  • Anti-bacterial & antiseptic
  • Insect repelling
  • Deeply grounding
  • Soothing & calming
  • Stimulating & boosting
  • Aids dry skin problems
  • Relaxing & healing

With doggy skin being not as thick as humans (3-5 cells thick while human skin is 10-15), it is incredibly important to be aware of what we are putting on their skin and making sure it is beneficial and nourishing for their body.

When it comes to our range, we have specifically selected oils for not only their beautiful scent to waft away woofy whiffs but also help with long lasting benefits.

How often should you wash your dog?
11 Feb 2022 in Howl-to Guides

When it comes to washing your dog, it can be hard to know how often to wash them - particularly if they are not the kind of dog that loves to roll around in mud and get dirty very often. It is best to have a bath time routine to keep your hound preen and sheen all year round!
